Are the EKOI helmets race legal in Canada and USAT races?
I doubt they are for USAT races…no mention of CPSC approval.
I know this for sure, if it doesn’t have the CPSC sticker inside the helmet, you can plan to have a backup helmet. The refs at Rev3 wouldn’t allow a french made aero helmet for a buddy of mine. Luckily I had my Tardiz in the car for him to use.
With so many good helmets available here which are legal, why even look far and wide?
as other have stated if the helmet does not have a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) sticker then it will not be allowed - some helmets manufactured pre march 10, 1999 have other standards but obviously the Ekoi is not included in this point… my 2c… not worth the investment.
Make sure it has the appropriate stickers if you want to race the bigger USAT races in the US. I had to sweet talk my way into transition at a recent race because my 2 year old Giro Advantage doesn’t have a sticker on it anymore. I know random volunteers don’t have the knowledge to ID legal helmets, but it is scary and frustrating to think I might have a dustup with a race official over a lost helmet sticker.
