Hey -

Is anyone else doing the Egg Nog Jog in Terra Cotta, ON in a few weeks? I’m expecting snow, but have heard it’s a tough course.(a hilly 10.8K)

Any feedback from experience out there?

I can give you feedback about egg nog, but not the event, although the event sounds fun.

I have never cared for egg nog’s mucus-like consistency.

Were you there for the Egg Nog Jog this morning?

I did a 53:39 for the 10.8Km(haven’t been really running at all since the focus has switched to strength training the last couple months) and that was a really tough course! The section between 2-6Km was just really brutal. No real traction on the course there and the bag piper was there at the top of the hill between the 5th and 6th Km. The 1st 2Km were great! Nice and easy downhill grade and did that in 8min!(was fealing pretty good) Then the hills kicked in and the legs turned to jello… Actually, more like concrete!

I’d recommend this race to anyone who wants the crap kicked outta them in mid-Dec!

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the course details. It certainly helped with the mental prep of myself and the people from our gym that ran it for the first time.
