Is getting hammered right now on the hill… It’s kind of entertaining

I thought it was nice how he outed the fed saying basically they’ve been talking about the bonuses for weeks during multiple meetings and nothing was said.

I also found it interesting how he read one of the death threats and stated it as a reason for not turning over the names as the threat specifically stated they were looking for a list of names. However the person he was talking to basically said he couldn’t promise to keep the names confidential.

I would have then asked, why do you need the list? What are your plans for it?

Oh man I just caught the tail end of the conversation when I got home. I didn’t see all that.

Everybody, including the pols on Capitol Hill, knew about these bonuses for weeks, if not months. All of this false populist fury is carried on with the full expectation that most of the chumps will fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

Yeah I’m not sure I understand how they couldn’t have thought it through a second before they gave them money (the first time) and told them they couldn’t use it for xyz but you can use it for abc? Then again I’m an exercise physiologist not an economist

They all continually underestimate the public’s tolerance for this sort of stuff. Especially here in the Midwest, where the government is forcing, for lack of a better word, auto company management and its unions to tear up contracts. To pull a Larry Summers and say that contracts in the financial world are sacrosanct and that there’s probably not much that can be done about these bonuses really gives me the impression that all of them, Dem and Rep alike, live in cloud-cuckoo land.

It is disgusting watching the politicos yell at the businessmen. It’s like me lecturing you on being a father and money management. Politicians are immoral morons have no place making judgments on anyone. Watching the hearings lets you see how clueless they are.
