Editing Garmin FIT files

Hi,

I would like to edit some of my Garmin FIT files coming from my Garmin 500 computer. I would like to edit laps and may be also add to the file a training description.

Is there any tools out there that can do this?

Note: I want to edit the raw file since I want to keep it independent form WKO or Golden Cheetah.

Trying to get a KOM on Strava the easy way?

Do you know JAVA or C/C++ or python? The SDK has Java, C/C++ code and there is some guy who implemented an older spec in python. It’s on github somewhere.
