Edit middle of .FIT, .TCX, .GPX file?

So on my ride this morning, my Garmin decided to think I traveled from Albany, NY to a few hundred miles off the coast of Virginia, just for a split second. But I can’t seem to edit the middle of the file. I can crop the beginning or end, but can’t seem to delete a section in the middle.

Does anyone have know how to edit this to remove this section? Or, should I just leave it and claim that I’m Jesus incarnate on a bike?

Have a look at this…

That said, outside of average moving speed it doesn’t look like the data is that out of whack.

The TCX file is a text file so you can just find the bad points and cut them out with a text or xml editor. I chopped about a dozen points and your file looked fine after that. The distance values are still messed up but the timing looks fine.

In years to come, when time travel is common-place, we will look back on events like this and realize that the proof was there, we just didn’t believe it at the time.

Excellent. Thanks. I was able to get it cleaned up a little so that the map looks better. Data is still a little skewed but I manually adjusted it so the distances were correct. Thanks for the suggestions!
