Easy zip wetsuit?

My dad is 77, lives on a small lake, and loves to swim around it during the summer months. A few years ago I bought him an xterra wetsuit like mine which he love(d). The problem is that since my mom died he can’t get it zipped by himself. He’s not that flexible and trying to do the zipper himself is just too hard. He sometimes goes to the road and hopes a neighbor drives by, but often ends up going home without a swim. So now he wants a wetsuit with a front zip. I can’t find any triathlon suits that zip in front, and understand that a diving or surfing suit won’t be as easy for him to swim in. The buoyancy is important too, as he swims alone.

Any ideas?

Aquaman wetsuits used to zip downwards, not up, not sure if they still do. Would that help?

It would seem they do:

That would probably be easier to do than the usual struggle behin the small of the back!

DeSoto has an amazing easy down zipper. Maybe he would be a size for one of the clearance models?

At 39 I had trouble getting my Xterra zipped!

Another vote for DeSoto. It’s a pull down zipper. If he can reach his butt, he can unzip or zip a DeSoto top.

Anyone have any idea why triathlon wetsuit manufacturers don’t make a suit that zips across the shoulder or chest? There are a few surfing manufacturers that use this method. In my experience I haven’t noticed a difference in arm mobility when I paddle. It seems like an idea that would market well.

Thank you everyone! My dad is coming over today, and we’ll look at both of these. The Desoto in particular looks much easier because you don’t have that huge gap across the shoulder blades to get closed. Thanks again.
