Are new Easton Tempest IIs compatible with Campy 10speed?
I ordered a set with my build with Campy Centaur cogs
but I just read on the Easton site that I need to use special cogs from Wheels Manufacturing…
have they fixed this yet?

Just install Shimano gears and go ride…no issues. I have done both 9 and 10 speeds…not perfect, but really good shifting.
this generation (ascent II, orion II, etc) comes with Campy compatible freehubs. if you’re ordering this through an LBS, they will probably be smart enough to know that they can get the appropriate freehub. if they’re not, cease using them. the previous generation (ascent comp, orion comp, ascent pro) only had S freehubs, and you had to use conversion cassettes.
as for just using an S cassette on a C drivetrain, it may work satisfactorily or it may not. some people have tried and said the shifting is just as good as with a Campy cassette, some say it’s OK, some don’t find that it shifts well. I’ve used SHimano 9s cogs on a Campy 9s drivetrain, and it was not satisfactory. probably size of bike has something to do with it, since the chain goes through sharper angles on smaller bikes.
