Easton EC90 Aero fork vs. Reynolds Ouzo Pro

I know this had to have been asked in the past, but I can’t find any definitive answers.

Does anyone have any information about which fork is better? I see a lot of guys with the Easton aero fork and a lot with the Ouzo Pro. It just seems to me that the Eastons are almost double the price (usually on ebay or classifieds). Is the Easton aero fork really that much better?

Thank you in advance.

Erik

If the Easton aero fork has relief areas in the steerer tube, I’d avoid it. I have an EC90SL and EC70 seatpost and the scalloped areas require you to crank down harder on the stem or seatpost clamp or they will slip. I think it may also contribute to creaking because clamping forces are uneven around the non-round fork steerer and seatpost.

Also, if the fork comes with the Easton beartrap preload device then that’s a 2nd nightmare.

i second the issue with the bear trap thing that comes with the ec90. if you get the fork, just get a regular compression plug.

the easton fork is popular because it is the lightest aero fork around for its price. the reynolds fork is popular because it actually is one of the most aero forks on paper. it’s is not quite as light (difference is ~100g in favour of the easton fork) but it’s stiffer. Also, i believe the easton aero fork is one of the few that is available in 1" steerer diameter, which some aero frames (e.g. Felt) adhere to.
