The chain rings on the K-force cranks that came stock on my P3C are worn, and rather than just replace the rings I was thinking of going with something different. Wondering if anyone has any personal experience with these? Reliability issues? Thanks…
Stiffer? How often did you notice the flex in your Easton? I would presume there are stress fractures and other indication of the flex load that would show at the flex points of the crank right?
Lighter, sure. Better shifting, sure. Less flexy…um…
Edited. Better? Now, can you answer the question?
You just cant go wrong with a Shimano or Campagnolo crank and BB. Can you get lighter? Sure, but the shifting is more often than not better on the OE systems.
Gonna agree on this one. I ride a K-Force on both my roadies, and it’s definitely possible to feel the flex, especially compared to a Dura-Ace BB/crank. Those things are stiff like a priest in a playground.
I switched to EC 90 cranks in February after bending the chainrings severely in a sprint on my SRAM force cranks.
They are WAY stiffer. The Force cranks had a visible amount of deflection when pedaling. The EC 90 cranks have no visible flex and appear to be saving me just a couple watts.
Shifting is every bit as good as the Force cranks I was using (with all Force components), and I’m extremely happy.
I got the ceramic bottom bracket as well, but that’s like all ceramic bearing purchases, very hard to discern any difference. I mainly got it because I pay so little for components that I didn’t want to wonder if I could have felt a difference with the “better” ceramic bearings.
Awesome- thanks.
