Dura-Ace 7800 TT Shifter

So I laid my bike down today on the right side and now when I shift the rear it doesn’t click. It will shift just doesn’t click., and seems slack. Derailleur looks fine. Any ideas?

The 7800 TT shifter has two modes. Indexed and smooth. Sounds like you accidentally got switched between them.

To switch it back, look for the little metal wire loop attached to the side of the shifter. Lift it up (or push it down) to the opposite side and you should go back to indexed shifting

Metal loop is sheared off. Just try to punch out and replace?

If you can, yes. If not, sounds like its time for a new 7800 TT Shifter.

It should still work in that smooth mode “friction mode”) until you can fix replace

As this is something people don’t change with regularity (you didn’t know it had two modes which suggests you are among them), why not just put something into the holes the loop normally occupies, twist, remove your new tool and leave it that way?

I’m cheap, just trying to save you a new shifter.

Short term, that’s fine but long term, it’s a good thing to have though. If you are ever in the middle of a race and the shifting isn’t working so well, going to friction can be a life-saver. I had that happen to me once at Rev Quassy.
