Remove.
Usually it would be to hold on something like the 10s spacer (for using a 10s cassette on your 11s wheel)
Remove it
.
But it’s red. And we all know that ‘red’ means fast on cycles. So surely should leave it or even better find some more and run 2 or 3?

I’ll remove it.

If you’re really hunting for marginal gains there is a trick (doesn’t work on many freehubs though) of wrapping the red rubber band on the pawls so it winds up when you freewheel then gives back the energy when you start pedaling. But if you get it wrong it will just jam and turn your bike into a fixie.

After today’s group ride then I’m sorely tempted to nip down and try this.
Note. If you are injured and don’t do any group riding for almost a year, build up to 2h30 of steady erg riding on zwift, consider your life choices when you dive into a century ride with 3 decent hill climbs in it and a 40km return trip chaingang on the flat back to the Mount. No little elastic band is going to help you
