I’m only vaguely awar3 of the details, just remember this as big story at the time. Crazy that the accusser went on to kill some one.
That’s a sad story. We are now living in a sexual atmosphere so polluted and embittered that women must look on virtually any man as a potential assailant and a man must look at virtually any woman as a potential accuser. The idea that this can be corrected by the police and the courts is a rather cruel joke. In the midst of this we presume to teach young people that sex can be safe. Sex was never safe and seems less so now.

The ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on this case was excellent.
I worked with a guy for several years that was on the team when this happened (wasn’t one of the accusers). I don’t remember all the details of the case but he mentioned it was a huge misunderstanding that got completely blown out of proportion.
