A year ago I bought a wheel set of DT Swiss Dicut ARC 1100 50 (tubeless ready) for my gravel bike for some street races.
Recently I got a new bike which came with ENVE SES 5.6 Disc (tubeless ready) wheels.
Can you think of any reason for keeping both or should I sell one wheel set and buy e.g. a disc wheel instead. If so, which set is the better choice to keep?
I believe the DT’s have better hubs and are bit lighter. Depending on how new the bike is and how much it’s been ridden, you could sell the Enve’s as new or almost new and possibly get enough to buy a nice rear disc.
Personally I think the Enve’s are faster but here are my points :

What bike are you racing? A Triathlon/TT bike? I am assuming that you are racing time trials or triathlon.
I am currently running DT Swiss disc wheels after a long time ownership of Zipp and Enve rim brake wheels. I am over the moon with the DT Swiss wheels and planning on getting a matching disc for my TT bike. The hubs are the absolute schizzle. If you don’t need the 2 wheel sets for any particular reason I would sell the Enve and invest in a matching DT Swiss disc for racing if you can afford it. On the other hand if you have several bikes, and off road the same wheels you race on (sounds like you might with your reference to gravel bike?) you might be better with 2 sets of wheels. One for road/racing and one for road/off road. That will save you a lot of hassle with tyre choice, changing tyres out for specific conditions etc.
In summery, currently I have 3 wheel sets: one for gravel, the DT and the ENVE.
The DT set was the second set, bought for some street action on my gravel bike.
The ENVE comes with a TT bike and they have only 10km on them.
I prefer graveling when it comes to outdoors.
I used my gravel bike with the DT for some (road) events. I think, I will use my TT bike way more on the road than my gravel bike anymore. So… if I need the road wheels on my gravel bike for some reason, it‘s no big deal to take them off the TT.
Long story short:
I don’t think there‘s a reason to keep both road wheel sets, but you guys have a lot more experience.
I still say keep the Enve’s… the 5.6s are faster then DT’s 50 and in my opinion despite being deep handle crosswinds better.
People keep mentioning hubs when you have not stated the hubs in the Enve’s ? Maybe everyone is assuming Enve hubs which are nice and never heard a bad thing about them. I’ve had both carbon and metal enve hubs before. My current 5.6s have DT hubs.
Personally I like having 3 sets of wheels (or more) example I broke some spokes on my Enve 4.5AR and because of supply chain issues have been waiting since early Jan for the rebuild. I could live with 2, but it would just be more inconvenient as the gravel I do would not be great with 28mm tires.
Man, I just looked up the DT SWISS wheels…I had no idea they were so expensive! Holy crap. They look sweet, and I love the rear disc they have, and how light it is, but I could never afford them!
It’s been a while I started this thread. I had a lot to do, that’s why it took so long to answer.
I made a decision: I’ll sell the ENVE. They are unused and I don’t think, they make a difference for me. I’m not a pro, who needs every single watt saving.
I don’t want to start a new topic, so I hope, I get suggestions about the disc wheel.
At the moment I’m between the DT Swiss Disc Wheel (maybe the set with 80mm front wheel) and the Xentis Blade (maybe also with Mark 3), because I live in Austria and they are made in Austria. 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸
What do you think? Or/and are there some disc wheels I also should look at?
I don’t think your question can be answered easily since the dt swiss disc wheel is barely delivered to normal mortal customers.
Just pro’s and you know what they will tell you when the are sponsored.
That said, hopefully mine will arrive soon, ordered it as soon that was possible. But when we order now, distributor gives delivery date of april next year……
Send Swiss Side an email, they design the DT Swiss Wheels. I think that the Swiss Side Disc is marginally cheaper, even though its the same wheel.
Personally I think that there is almost no difference between different rear disc wheels, other than the hubs and weight. The DT Swiss / Swiss Side Disc is super light due to very high tech manufacturing process, also the reason that they are so expensive.
I use a Swiss Side Hadron 2 800 front wheel. Been a total revelation, it is so stable in cross winds that you can stay aero for much longer. I use a Yoeleo Disc rear, with DTSwiss 240 Hubs. Leo Yoeleo is a great guy and will build you a disc wheel with high end hub, yes they are Chinese, but really impressed with quality, and Leo is a passionate cyclist.
I don’t have any experiences with disc wheels. I’m really happy with my DTS Arc Dicut 1100 50, that’s why I think about their disk wheel. You also find a few review and tests for it.
I really like the look of the Xentis wheels, but there’s nearly nothing to find about their performance. If Xentis and DTSwiss are about the same and there would be only a marginal difference in price, I would go for the Xentis.
