What’s the best remedy for my dry and cracked skin in my feets… mostvthe cracks are in my heels… they normally don’t hurt but sometimes the cracks get too large and The under skin gets exposed, which is quite sensitive.
I get that in the Summer when wearing flipflops daily…
Best way is to prevent it from happening - when you see your heels getting dry/hard, get the exfoliate scraper thing out and go to town, then moisturize.
If they are already cracked, put some antibiotic cream in the cracks and tape them shut with some strips of strong medical tape, like leukotape.
I’ve found that filing the dry skin away a few times a week after a shower and nightly application of my kids’ diaper cream (wear socks to prevent it from smearing all over the bed) can keep my heels from cracking. I hear you on the deep cracks…sometimes they hurt enough to alter my running stride.
this is the leukotape, it really helps hold the deep cracks closed while walking/running and help them heal:

Cool. When using the tape, I usually tape about a 6 inch strip of it, and start by placing the end of it, about 2 inches of it, on the underside of my foot, rub it on so it is seated well. Then I pull it tight up over the heel so that it closes any cracks and lay it down over the lower achilles, rub it on well. Leuko is a very strong tape and will stay on there tight for a few days, often even through showers, swim, etc.
One thing to note - while it is fine to use directly on areas like your heel where the skin is thick/tough…if you are using it elsewhere as a sport tape, an area where the skin is softer (so really, anywhere else on your body), it is recommended that you use a less sticky tape as a base first, so that the leuko isn’t directly on the skin, as it can be a bitch to remove off soft skin, its really sticky!

+1000 This stuff is the end all, be all for foot cracks. I also use it on my knuckles in when they crack in the dry, cold air of winter training.
The cheese grater foot scraper in the shower and Super Glue when they cracks get deep and painful
.
Occupational hazard for us lot. I saw the doc about this because some of my cracks were really painful, and she recommended Emulsifying Ointment BP, smeared all over and then put your socks on. I applied it before bed (and slept in socks, which I HATE) and in the morning when getting dressed.
I don’t know if it goes by the same name over in 'murica but ingredients are;
Emulsifying wax 30%, white soft paraffin 50%, liquid paraffin 20%.
Works a treat.

put lots of Vaseline on heels
then immediately put on thin socks

Just tried the burts bee last night… wow it does wonders! I will definitely be putting this stuff on daily…
in addition to the great advice already mentioned about emollient use, make good use of a pumice stone or foot file to keep your calluses in check. When calluses get overly thick, they become brittle and crack, causing the issue you’re having
Yep, if it’s skin tags you need to exfoliate. Don’t expect to remove the whole tags at once. Best is in the shower after your swim workouts.
Avoid situations with high friction against your feet (things like sand, pool bottoms, etc.).

^^this. I just sub the foot scraper with a pumice stone. Use pumice stone regularly to prevent cracking.
