Driving San Jose to Paso Robles for WF Q?

I’m driving from San Jose airport to Paso Robles. Is it faster to take 101, or go over to I5? Looks like I5 is longer but I would guess faster. I’m just not sure how much you then lose going east to I5 and then back west to Paso Robles.

Take 101, it will be easier, faster and more scenic.

Definitely 101. From 1-5 to 101 is about an hour of winding, ugly road and they are working on Hwy. 41. Stay far far away.

did the same thing in 2000. just remember, the turn off for the lake is just north of king city, Jolon rd. if you get to king city, you are too far…

If you get to king City, you can still get there, by going a little farther south and taking the Nasty Grade Road. Also helps preview the course

Paso Robles is a ways south of King City.

This would depend on whether the OP was going straight to his hotel in Paso or going to the lake first. If going to the hotel first, definitely stay on 101. If going to the lake first before going to the room, then take your exit.
