Currently:

  Athlete Hellriegel Al-Sultan Power Output Watt 377,00 Watt Heart rate 0 /min 0 /min Speed 0,00 km/h 42,10 km/h Cadence 0 rpm 93 rpm Time 07:42:41 07:43:27 Distance 1,20 km 4,50 km

.

Thanks for posting the link.

That would be more informative if it were an average value. These peak values don’t really tell us much. Al Sultan is fast, but I doubt he’s holding nearly 350W for the whole distance.

What happened to the readings?

What I find interesting about these results:

  1. All of them, with the exception of Fernanda, apparently went out too hard at the beginning. I am very surprised that the pro’s, particularly when equipped with an SRM, don’t stick to a planned power number. Maybe the heat forced them all to drop to a lower power later in the day, while they may have been able to maintain that power all the way to the end under better conditions. Fernanda, being smaller and Brazilian, maybe was less affected by the heat.

  2. Mostly they are all riding ~80rpm

  3. If I had the aerodynamic profile and weight of Fernanda Keller, but kept my current average power, I would be be damn fast on the bike. Is it illegal to attach a helium blimp to your bike?
