Thanks for the link. That article seems right on the money with what is going on right now. Flood the zone to distract while they achieve all they want. And everyone is just sitting back and waiting for the ‘checks and balances’ to start working but by then (if they can even function anymore) it will be too late.

Implicit in Ezra’s argument of “don’t believe him”, is that Trump’s actions really don’t have the teeth behind them. The overwhelming barrage of EO’s give the illusion of a force of power that is part of the strategy. We shouldn’t fall for it. e.g. – i.e. illegal actions will be prevented by the courts. Trump’s strategy of flooding the zone will eventually turn and flood his own zone.
So, we just sit back and handwave the latest development away and pooh pooh that it’s not sustainable or won’t really come to pass? That does not seem like a good response.
I don’t think anyone should be hand waving away what’s going but I don’t profess to know what the solution is.
I don’t think he’s saying we should just wait. He’s saying that, for instance federal judges are already pausing and then blocking the many EOs. Today, a federal judge paused the buyout program. I expect it’ll be blocked shortly after that. His assumption (and that’s where he may be off) is that those who have the power to stop him are doing something about it. This may be an optimistic take given the spine showed by the dems, which is a bit stronger than that of the GOP, albeit still invertebrate. I hope many federal judges line up and block all this crap. And I hope elected officials find their voice to stop this MAGA and Musk bull.

I heard the “dont’ believe him”, but didn’t quite get the vibe that there was a call to action to stop him. Other than Trump is going about it this way to make it look like he’s King… and if enough believe that he has the power of the King, then he wins. Which is why Trump and team are not going about it through established processes - e.g. legislative actions through Congress - b/c he can’t win that way.
Seem like if Trump and team are doing this flood-the-zone muzzle-velocity approach, seems like a valid response would be the same flood-the-zone approach of court challenges and other checks and balances thrown right back. Like a deny-delay-something else approach.
Maybe that’s happening, but I only see one side moving quickly.
I find it amusing from a distance when I hear people (coughWindy cough) talk about how Canada has a King/Queen and then they elect Trump. He has governed this term exclusively with executive orders and very few don’t even see the irony.
Long live the King.

Yeah…we recently moved from FL to NC and now we’re wondering if we stopped too early and shouldn’t have gone across the border.
