DOGE hits home

I have two daughters, both in computer science. They both had accepted job offers at the same intelligence agency to start in June…until today when the older daughter was told her offer was rescinded. Younger daughter (who is traveling home from college today) is on tenterhooks waiting for a similar call.

This affects the intelligence community. You know, those folks who are trying to keep us safe?

Trump supporters: F*** YOU.

Update: second daughter just texted wrt a voice message “Yes. She identified herself and told me to give her a call back about my offer status so i’s certainly not going to be good news.”

Or they failed their polys

Yeah, they got written job offers that were rescinded because one of them never failed the poly and the other was informed she did pass the poly.

Get a clue.

No. How about you grow a sense of humor? F*** You.

Joking about both daughters losing job offers isn’t funny. They’ve likely missed out on other job opportunities because they thought they had these jobs. I wouldn’t be happy if my kids missed out on jobs because of a couple of fuckwits messing with our country.

Lucky for them that they haven’t done anything irreversible, like sign leases or give notice to current employer (in the case of the oldest). There are so many others out there whose timing was really bad and are now stuck in bad situations. So much needless misery.

Is America Great Again yet?

The amazing thing is Trump is more popular now than his first term.

He has done a masterful job in making Americans feel like they are “winning”, this is the “right” path, etc.

Time well tell. As I have said from the beginning of he and house R’s are this unpopular dems should get A LOT more seats in 2026, but I do not see that happening.

that sucks.

our kids will have to pack more resilience into the next couple years than my husband and i weathered in 30. I tell myself it will be good for them. It sounds like your girls are extremely qualified and will find their way despite this BS

I doubt a couple of interns getting their offers rescinded are going to have an affect on national security.

Apparently it doesn’t…

But I do remember all the concerns expressed here in the last 4 years about “the folks who are trying to keep us safe” while millions of illegals, including terrorists, walked across our non-existent borders.

It’s a fond memory stored right next to all the cheering that went on for employment reports here that were loaded with BS government jobs (and even then all later had to be revised down).

On the bright side I don’t think a lot of coal miners who were told to learn to code actually ever did so…

consider all this lack of empathy a response to your “trump supporters” posiiton.

They aren’t interns, clown. Do you think they are the only ones affected?

And it is “effect.” Are you an intern yet?

" No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people. People can easily be persuaded to accept the most inferior ideas or useless products"

No matter how chaotic Trump’s administration is @windywave, who totally does not support him, will jump to minimize the chaos and mock those that are affected by it.

Just for perspective, this isn’t DOGE. President Trump instituted a similar federal hiring freeze in 2017, for basically the same purposes.

I’m sure it doesn’t help any feelings of angst you may have at home for your daughters, but this probably should be surprising at this point. It’s been a few weeks since SECDEF ordered no new hires, including people who were already theoretically hired but hadn’t onboarded yet.

You are not a serious person.

America will be great again day 1, and by day 1 I mean this is a long term process and things may get uncomfortable for a while, and by uncomfortable I mean I’m going to screw a whole lot of people and crash the economy, but don’t worry, I’ll come out ahead.

Awfully good of Musk, then, to go out of his lane to provide guidance.
