Does zwift have a 4DP test?

I know sufferfest does. But does zwift?

I don’t think that Zwift has a 4dp test, but you could just follow the Sufferfest protocol. That said, the value is not the test results (FTP, MAP, etc) but in the workouts tailored to your profile i.e. the sweet spot intervals are automatically set as a percent of your FTP but VO2 max intervals are automatically set as a percent of your MAP and so on. You of course could do your own math and achieve the same results if you put the time in of course  I am not a coach, this is just my take after using the Sufferfest for several years.

No, but you could create a “workout” with the same structure in Zwift and then use the MMP curve for that workout using another tool (TP, TR, Strava, etc) to track your “signature” across the 4 different power durations.

That is one of the things that makes SYSTM special - it’s there trademarked differentiator. They measure 4 power thresholds and indexes intervals individually to each. Where everyone else, I think, measures FTP and then estimates interval intensity levels from FTP.

If, by everyone else, you mean all the other online training platforms, then yes, most everyone else bases training intensity off FTP. Any coach worth his/her salt isn’t doing it that way, though.

Yeah I’ll pause zwift for a while and try it out.

Thx

He seems that SYSTM bases workouts off of 4DP, not FTP. That means, for example, that if you’re doing a workout with 5-second sprints, it’s not basing that off of FTP, but your actual sprint power. Which can vary tremendously relative to FTP.

Not that many platforms do that. Xert and TrainerRoad approach the same idea in different ways.

You know SYSTM is just Sufferfest rebranded, right?

Yes. I wrote this article about a year ago. exxxviiii is also writing a survey of training systems. I think we’ve both got a handle on the basics. But are happy to be corrected or nudged in the right direction where wrong…

Not trying to correct you, just couldn’t understand why you were quoting me. It seemed as if you were arguing a point re: training platforms that do in fact use 4DP.

What does 4DP mean?

Four Dimensional Power
Love the workouts tailored to my profile. I like sprinting and Vo2-max and zwift and trainerroad sets the targets to low but the SYSTM-workouts really kicks my ass. 200% Ftp is to low when sprinting for example
