Question?
I have swam 10-12 50’s in the pool with 15 second rest and the time in seconds compares to my Half-Iron swim time.
This seems like the Yasso 800 workout.
My 50 average is :35-:37 seconds and my half swim time is 36:xx
I was wandering what you guys think and if it would work for 100yd swim and 2.4 mile swim.
I don’t think so. My Iron swim is 1:05 and I was swimmming 1:25-1:30 for repeats in the pool. I have seen better luck using a 500 time this way. Really would like to find something like this though seeing as I lost my training log for that year to do it myself.
50’s are too short for a test and the rest is too long. At least do 100’s or better yet, 200’s with 20-30 sec rest. Who cares if it matches up with a race distance, just track your improvement over time by doing the same set every couple of weeks.
Absolutely not.
My HIM and IM times are WAY faster than I could hold for 50s and 100s. If your times are comparable, you’re probably a good sprinter, relatively speaking.
