WTF DID I JUST WATCH???
The saddle set up looks like it would kill the huevos
I saw two people in Central Park riding what looked to be a bike with an “elliptical” style drives train. I think they were normal bikes but the pedals were from an “elliptical” machine. And they were moving in the “elliptical manner”. I was riding myself so didn’t get a good glance at them. One of the weirder things I have seen in the park!
Ok here is the eliiptical bike website:
No I don’t work for them! Just surprised to see such a thing.
I thought I had saw it all until you posted this

.
They never showed someone going uphill. I’ll bet that would be fun.

Saw someone riding one during RAGBRAI this year - he was moving pretty quickly.
Looks like something out of a South Park episode (The Entity, episode 511).
I can see the use as a rehab device from car crashes, serious injuries, lost legs, whatever.
Not sure why they didn’t just take a cheap old woman’s commuter bike - so people with no flexibility could get their leg over.
$30 on craigslist. Take off the cranks, and there it is. No reason for all that suspension craziness that I can think of.
This is just a modern Dandy Horse.

The alternative is to use those pressurized reduced-gravity treadmills, which are prohibitively expensive. If you need the reduced impact, this seems like a decent way to get it.
