Does anyone wear rashguards?

I’ve just ordered one for sun protection, along with a bit of warmth for early season swims (I don’t own a wetsuit). Will it slow my swims down? Not that I’m such a fantastic swimmer, but I need all the help I can get. This one is long sleeved with a small turtleneck. I understand they need to fit like a second skin.

Anybody work out with these? Has anyone raced in them?

Never raced with one, but as a bodyboarder/surfer, I’ve been wearing them in the surf (at least in warmer water) for over 15 years. If they fit skin tight, which they should (like all lycra), it will have the same effect as a tri-top. Some minor drag, yes.

Tri, will it get wrecked in chlorine? I would imagine it would be like a swimsuit if it’s made of mostly Lycra. I would also think saltwater is just as hard on them. Do they dry as fast as a swim suit?

Yes, just like a swimsuit, and they dry the same…but alot depends on the thickness of the lycra. We sell rash guards on my site:

Thicker ones dry slower obviously. Chlorine will eventually break it down just like a swimsuit.
