Does anyone here use a S720 HRM?

Is there was way to program it to beep when out of your zones? I can’t get mine to do what my $75 Polar from '01 would do!

Thanks in advance for this n00b question.

yeah, should be pretty easy, well it’s doable at least it takes a while to get used to the 720 series. Take a look in the manual but the option is definetely there. I don’t have mine in front of me or I’d walk you through it.

You need to program one of the exercise sets with HR zones, and then select that exercise set as the one to use for the workout you are about to do.

The upper left botton hold it down until the icon above the heart appears. It looks like a dot with sound waves coming from it.

I never use the sound feature on mine. However the feature was enabled by accident on this past Sunday when I was running with a faster runner than myself. Pretty early in the run my watch started beeping and I had to figure it out quick. Kind of embarrassing.

It’s not possible if you’re using the bike computer features. If you’re just using it as a HRM then yes, you can set it to beep.

Yup, doesn’t work if bike functions are active. That definitely pissed me off when I bought it. Why would Polar design a watch like that? Anyone know if the new Polar bike computers don’t have this annoying feature?

yes, I’m just trying to use it as a HRM for my runs. Zones are set. I tried holding down the upper left button, but that sets the alarm (?) do i need the strap on then try it?

I looked in that fat manual which is 95% useless and couldn’t find it.

thanks for the replies so far.

You don’t necesssarily need the strap on, but it should be in the stopwatch mode as opposed to the time of day mode.
