Do you have long legs & short torso? show me your aero position!

Slowly shopping for my first tri bike. I’ve long legs and a short torso; I look as though a regular man had his spine put in a vice and squashed down a bit. There’s no stoop or scoliosis, I’m just foreshortened.

The stack and reach dB suggests Shiv, Lucero, Slice are good choices, but cervelos & treks are not.

So, if you’re similarly misshapen, lemme see your setup!

I have long-ish legs and a short-ish torso and I’m on a Speed Concept. I’m on my phone now so I’ll come back and edit this post later with a photo of my fit and my S/R coordinates.

I think I somewhat fit this description. I’m only 5’11" but wear 32-33" inseam pants most times. Not sure how extreme you are.

Here’s a few pictures on my blog. http://tri-keokuk.blogspot.com/

I don’t have precise coordinates as I fit myself. But It’s a size Medium 1st generation 7 series Speed Concept. 110mm -35degree stem, so pacers. I’m going to try and little lower and longer this year, maybe slide the seat just a little further forward too. Focusing on 70.3, no IM’s.

Here’s the details I scribbled down before traveling to Kona in case my bike got lost or destroyed:

2010 Trek 7.5, medium
-35d 120mm, no spacers
Cobb JOF 55 Saddle
165mm cranks
Time iclic pedals
Seat height 30-1/8"
Saddle tip to steerer 16.5"
Tip of saddle 1" behind bb
Tip saddle to center of pads 20.25"
Pad width 6.75" center to center
Extensions 11" center pad to base of shifter
Pads 20.25" above front axle
Pads 4.75 behind front axle

I have a very short torso and long limbs. My position has a ton of saddle to pad drop and a steep effective seat tube angle, so I fit well on a long and low geometry bike like the P4 despite my proportions.

I am 6’2" (Long legs and short torso) and I have a BMC TM02 Large. I think it fits me pretty well. I dont have a picture right now but I can try and find a photo for you later.

I will try and find a picture that is copyright stamped (i dont think i can post that here) but I am 5’9.5 with 32.5" Inseam and T - Rex arms, on a New 51 Cervelo P2. The new cervelo’s have quite a bit of stack and shorter reach compared to the older ones.

Look at a Dimond. That’s what I ride. 6’3" with roughly 37" inseam.

Wow. Love this thread. I am the complete opposite. I have a long torso and short legs. I would love to know the best bikes with this description. I would imagine Cannondale and even the most recent P5. (opposed to the P4)

Thanks,

TW

According to LBS fitter I have longer than average legs. Bike is a Large 2013 BH Aerolight.

Note this image was before I could rescue my spare pedals from a mate so I was on flats. Since this image, the seat went up 1.5 and back 2-ish… which makes it the fit as per first image.
