Do you have a reliable source for old-model shoes?

I really want to find a pair (or 2) of Superblast 2’s and online searches don’t fill me with a lot of confidence. Where do you go when the dumbA shoe company changes a shoe you really like and you want to find the old one? The SB2 may be my favorite shoe ever for durability and Asics changed up the mid-sole apparently.

I bought a pair at Going Going Gone just last week. They clear out old or returned shoes from Dicks Sporting Goods.

You want to go into the store if there’s one nearby. I got mine for $70.

I’ve also bought vaporfly 4s for $115

The problem with buying discontinued shoes is finding replacement parts for them LOL

No, there is no reliable source for old-model shoes. You can find over stock of old model shoes at discount stores. I always watch for the Asics shoes but it is really hit and miss. They may have 5-6 pair of Gel Noosa when you are there one day and if you are really lucky one might even be your size. Then when you are back they may have 5-6 pairs of Hoka Speed Goat and some Asics GT2000 but no more Noosa. Then after that they may have something else but there will be no Noosa, Speed Goat, or GT2000. I have been watching for the Nova Blast for 2-3 years but have never seen them in any size at any overstock discount store. I did see a pair of Nike Vapor Fly, I got some Asics Gel Kayanos, I got some Hoka Clifton, etc. I also have searched ebay for the Nova Blast but never got any because they were always more than I wanted to pay for them. For me, the Nova Blast has been a very hard model to find in old-model/discount locations. I don’t think there is any over stock. I think it sells out every year. Check ebay though. That is your best bet. Also, keep your eyes open when you are in discount stores (but don’t make any special trips because it is a long shot).

Thelasthunt.com for Canadians - it’s the clearance outlet for Altitude Sports, who have gone quite deep into the trail running space in recent years.

I’ve also had luck in the past with CanadianShoes and Kintec, but of course it’s all dependent on the popularity of the model and size you want.

I do know I’ve had some hits by going well beyond the first page of results when searching for a particular model (like found an obscure or unexpected source on page 5), or a different set of results by using the “shopping” tab of results in either Chrome or Duckduckgo
