Do Feedback stands work with aero seatposts?

Got rid of my fork-mount stand b/c of the rear brake & fin on my Speed Concept, but looking at the way the clamp works on the Feedback, I’m not sure it’ll work with an aero post.

The jaws look like they’ll open wide enough, but the jaws open & close towards the stand, not perpendicular to it.

So, I’m having a hard time visualizing how an aero post would work with the clamp. Wouldn’t the main support beam of the stand always be in the way?

You can rotate the clamp, but it’s not like the Park ones where the clamping mechanism tightens parallel to the stand…

It’d be nice if you told us which of the 5 or 6 stands that Feedback Sports makes you’re talking about.

Most of them appear to work on an aero seatpost if you rotate the clamp until it’s vertical
.

Pro-Elite. But it’s irrelevant, as all the clamps have the same design, but with different features.

You can rotate the clamp to get vertical jaws, but the clamping mechanism is in line with the arm (whereas Parks clamp perpendicular to the arm).

So, best I can tell, you can get your seatpost in the jaws, but your crank & rear wheel will be smacking the main post.

I’m not following your line of thinking, the pix shows a bike held by the vertical clamp on the seatpost with no “crank & rear wheel will be smacking the main post”

Yeah, unfortunately it’s a bitch to explain. Road bikes…no issue. Aero posts, issue…

In that pic, the jaws do not open along the length of bike. Rather, they open in the same plane as the clamping arm. So a tri bike cannot be mounted like that road bike is.

So if you keep the stand in that same position, and attempt to mount an aero tri post (ie 2cm x 6cm), the entire bike is in the same plane as the clamp arm, and everything from the seatpost on back bangs into the main vertical post, in my spatial perception point of view

I’ve had no issues with the Feedback Sports and my P2. I tilt the bike so the bars are about 15 degrees lower than horizontal and let the seat take some of the weight on top of the clamp before tightening.

My seatpost is also 2cm X 6 cm, my bike stand is also Feedback Sports, my clamp has no problem holding an aero seatpost

It does clamp, but sideways instead of front to back like the Park clamp.

Ok, thanks. Hadn’t considered clamping only half the post from the side like that.

depends on the post. would not try that on a felt AR post or IA

That was my thought as well… It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me why it clamps sideways instead of front to back. At a sprint tri 2 wks ago, Fit Werx was there and the tech just dropped my bike up on the arm in front of the saddle instead of clamping it in a Feedback stand.
