In typical “me” fashion, my kid has shown an interest in DJing and I am going overboard on it. I got her a mixer, synth and a bunch of other stuff that she is having fun with and I want to add some basic lights into the mix. Anyone have a line on some relatively cheaper systems. I don’t think I want to go the route of a MDX controller quite yet. I thought like a black light, disco ball and a couple of coloured lasers.

I don’t know anything about DJ lights, but it would be sweet if she could use an entire basement for her parties. Do you have a basement? Can you move your stuff someplace else? TIA
There is a heck of a lot of stuff available on Amazon.
I would avoid the black light and disco ball as you need to mount the disco ball somewhere and the black light is a pretty mono effect as such.
Lasers-you need to spend a bit to get anything slightly decent but they are cool. You really need a smoke machine to get the benefits from a laser.
Agree not going down the route of a DMX controller yet for the lights.
Depending on your budget, a smoke machine, light bar and then 4 different lights mounted can be done for a good price. You generally need the light bar to get the lights at a level up above the crowd otherwise there is no penetration etc.
Post any links to any gear you are looking at if you like.
