DIY Carbon Aerobar Extensions

Hey all I am looking into making some Carbon Aerobar Extensions for my TT Bike. Right now I have T2 aluminums and I have been looking into the idea of getting some carbon tubes cut from a comp that will make them the size needed. I have found 22mm Outer with a thickness of 1mm. I am trying to see if they can cut me 22.2mm Outer and beef it up to 1.4-5 thickness. I was wondering if anyone has had luck with making a set and if so what size outer/thickness would work best. Right now I feel like the 22mm Outer could fit and work but since my T2’s are 22.2 I figure the clamps would best work with the same time. As for thickness I am not 100% what again would work best. I have looked around some and found people making bars but not out of carbon tubes.

My goal would be to pick up a carbon base bar and then use my clamps with some carbon custom made tubes! The one site I found while lurking ebay will custom cut them for orders. http://www.cfpart.com/

I also can say that I have a ton of Chinese carbon fiber parts on a few of my bikes and I have faith that they are not going to blow up will riding them  Bars, stems, frame and so on. I would like to finish off my Tri bike with a set of carbon horns and extensions!

Your looking for 7/8 inch tubing( .875 dia) kinda hard to find but it’s out there.

Thicker than you want (0.125" wall is a little over 3mm thickness) but this looks like it could work:

0.625" ID (5/8" - 15.8ishmm) seems a bit on the small side, you may have to bore out the ID some. SRAM TT shifters fit bars with a 19mm minimum ID.

one place just got back to me and said they can do 22.2x20x1000 with a thickness of 1.2mm I am using shimano DA TT shifters on the bike! how would that work out?

So how did the extensions work or did you find a good source?
