I was watching the last TT of the tour on Eurosport and the commentator said something about the DISCO team spraying themselves and their bikes with some kind of lubricant to “slip through the air easier”. I just remembered that today and wondered if I heard it correctly - anyone else hear that? anyone know what they’re using?
Yup, it’s the same stuff that they spray on airliners before takeoff. It’s pretty nasty stuff to get off, though - basically have to spray you down with a solvent.
I have been on ALLOT of flights…and other than De Icer I just cant remember them spraying anything on the plane…maybe it was RainX…that supposedly works on Fighter Jets.

Okay, I guess you are referring to jet wash, right? :^P Actually that stuff is for turbine powered aircraft where as propeller driven aircraft use prop wash! Think about that for a moment (grin). :^D
They usually apply it just as the last passengers are boarding, so you must have missed it. It is actually just a synthetic polymer that seals the body, bike, plane, race car, whatever, really, against excess turbulance caused by dust and other fine particles that are in the air in industrial cities or high polluting countries like France.
I can’t believe you haven’t heard about it. I thought you were pretty savvy with this kind of thing.
I heard that too and I have no idea what he was talking about; but the title of this thread sounds like a “natural break” gone bad!

If they do this it’s no big deal to get off…have you ever used any of the massage creams they use before rides, like Fast Freddy or Ozone?
