I’m hoping someone can help me with a question about disc wheels.
I come across a set of all carbon wheels and they’re advertised as disc wheels. Can disc wheels be used on a standard road bike, using normal brakes?
It depends. There are disc brake specific rims without proper brake track. Some wheels have the same rim as normal models. Also rear disc wheels tend to have 135mm spacing, not typical 130mm.
Can you show us these wheels? Generally, no you can’t use disc brake wheels with regular rim brakes. However, some disc brake wheels still have the regular brake track on them.
Are you asking about a solid rear disc wheel that doesn’t have any spokes?

A Zipp 404 Disc wheelset can only be used with disc brakes.
