Disc wheel valve stem length?

Hi guys,

I’ve just joined from the other side of the world (NZ)
I have just ordered my first full disc wheel (fast forward) from Wiggle in the UK. Im trying to find out what length valve stem would be best (clincher tube) to suit .
I currently have Shimano 50mm rims and are running 80mm valve stems which I guess will be too long.
I’d like to get some tubes before the wheel arrives, so Im ready to rock and roll when it arrives.

Cheers

Tubular or clincher disc? For tubular, it’s 32mm but you can make 36mm work.

It’s a clincher disc.

Depends.

Hi, what does it depend on ?

I’d suggest contacting FastForward or Wiggle to confirm what size is needed. The opening looks small so it appears you will probably need a tube with a 32 or 36mm stem. Either way, you’ll also need an adapter (crack pipe)to inflate.

The thickness of the rim and how large the cutout area is.

I emailed Fast Forward, but haven’t had a reply, I wasn’t sure if Wiggle would know; but never mind it should be here tomorrow or Wednesday, so all will be revealed

Thanks for everyone’s replies
