Disc wheel/brakes compatability

Let’s say I have several bikes

  1. 11spd with disc brakes
  2. 11spd with rim brakes…
  3. 10spd with disc brakes
  4. 10spd with rim brakes

What is the minimum number of disc wheels I need to get in order to use them on all bikes.

Can I get one wheel and switch cassettes so I can use it on 10 and 11spd?

Also I have never seen a disc wheel with disc brakes. Do they actually exist or most just use front brakes only when they ride with disc wheel?

Plenty disc wheels that support disc brakes

For example:

.

assuming we are talking solid disc wheels, minimum number of disc wheels is two. one with rime brakes and one without and swap cassettes around assuming at the 10 speed and 11 speed bikes use a Shimano xg freehub.

Are you asking about a solid rear disc wheel?

I believe the Premier Bike rear disc wheel has a hub that accepts a brake disc as well as a rim brake track.

So as long as you were ok swapping the axles and removing the disc from the hub, you’d be fine with that wheel for both applications. And this assumes you don’t have a XDR cassette or something weird like that that would necessitate a freehub swap

Yes. i mean solid rear disc wheel…

would not i need to swap freehubs too between 10 and 11 speed?

You should just need to add a small spacer to the hub prior to installing the 10 speed cassette.

No.
