Any suggestions on what to eat after 8pm? I get home from the bike shop I work at around 8 and I need something to eat but always get confused on what to eat. Usually it is a sandwich or cereal but i am usually hungry after.
If you are concerned about calories and fat, try some air pop popcorn, no butter with a little seasoning salt. High fibre, low cal snack that fills you up.

That being said, calories are calories, pretty much no matter what time you eat them. Just don’t eat a majority of your calories, but if you need 2000 a day and you have only eaten 1500, have 500 calories of something.
If you’re still hungry, I’ve found that a big glass of chocolate milk really does fill you up.

My personal Fav… Chicken Breast stir fryed with a bag of frozen stir fry mix… that’ll fill you up but keep you light on your twinkle-toes
A banana and yogurt with a bunch of cereal. Pour the cereal right in the yogurt container.
My wife buys this stuff, banana nut cereal or something. Keep refilling that yogurt container with cereal until the yogurt is all gone, kinda like we do when there’s milk left at the bottom of our breakfast bowl and we keep adding cereal until we run out of both at the same time!
That late, I would go with fruit or celery with peanut butter (to fill you up).

RD - I agree with Jackmott 110%. I’ve been eating after 8 pm for years and have never gained weight. In fact I make it a point to eat late because I sleep better on a full stomach, but that’s just me.

I like to have cereal before I go to bed. Grape nuts mixed with some of the kids’ cereal are the best. A nice layer of Cookie Crisps on top of a bowl of Grape nuts is a culinary delight right before bed. There may even be some nutrition involved if you count the skim milk.

I rarely eat before 7:30-8:00, and make a regular dinner with chicken, pasta, and greens. No weight gain, and I sleep like a log.
No CARBS after 3pm!

Eat planned meals all day and I see no reason eating at 8.
I get up at 6am. Have breakfast in the car at 6:45. Snack around 9:30am. Lunch at 12pm (sometimes run 30 mins, then eat). Snack at 3pm. Get home at 6PM. Run or bike for an hour. eat dinner at 7:30PM. Bed by 11. Repeat.
Such is life. As long as you eat sensibly all day, no reason you can’t eat at 8 or 8:30. Plus - perhaps you stay up till midnight whereas others go to bed at 10.
