Hello!
I have an issue with micro adjusting my rear derailleur. Everything seems to shift fine except going from the biggest gear ( small sprocket and big ring) to the next gear (closer to the wheel). Tried micro adjusting but it doesn’t want to shift. The only way is to shift gear again to go to the third sprocket.
Does it have to do with the limits or something else ? Any experience with such issue in the community?
Thanks!!
Andre
Have you checked to see if your rear derailleur hanger is true?
I actually broke my original one and replaced with a brand new one. It is a Ventum One bike rim brake. So the hanger is custom made from them. I don’t think there is many ways to insert it. See pictures attached.
Thanks!!
A rear derailleur hanger still has to be trued even if it is new.
Here is the hanger. I am wondering if the little screws can be tighten or loosen to true it, of those are just to fix it to the frame and needs to be tighten.

The hanger is trued with a tool like this:

What preceded this issue? Was it replacing the derailleur hanger? Any other work? I ask because your photos show the upper derailleur cage wheel pushed out a long ways from the cassette cogs. Turning the derailleur b-screw way in could cause this position. The lack of chain wrap on the cassette could cause so,e shifting and engagement issues.
I smashed my previous derailleur hanger and after I replaced it the problem started. I had it looked at and the derailleur should be in good position.but yeah it might be what you are suggesting. No idea to be honest. Thanks for the reply !

Why do you think that it should be in good position?
Sorry, I meant the derailleur itself. Not necessarily the b screw. I got my Velofix mechanic to adjust it but apparently he didn’t fix it properly. He also showed my how to remove the derailleur properly when packing the bike so maybe something got “unfixed†then but that would be surprising

Did the mechanic check the alignment?
