Di2 7970 rear derailleur cage break, help what can I do?

I bent my 1st generation Di2 7970 10 speed rear derailleur cage. My LBS said they cant get parts so I am over to ebay to stay on the road.

Looks like I can buy a replacement (used) derailleur (10/11 speed) as well as a K Force replacement cage (but not sure of the cost).

Can a 11 speed first gen rear derailleur work on my 10 speed cassette, chain and shifters?

Thanks for any ideas or advice on how to get back on the road without overhauling everything.

Shimano have a solution for you.
Your LBS should know about it.
There is an adaptor to allow you to run new 2 wire stuff with your old 4 wire stuff.

Thanks, this looks like it might also work: thoughts?

I just replaced a bent cage on a 6770 deraillru and found out a bunch of newish Shimano derailleur cages are interchangable.

I ended up just buying a mechanical GS derailleur and using that cage.

Sounds like an omen, time to upgrade the groupset??!!
The first gen DA Di2 is a PITA in that it was a one off essentially and nothing after that is compatible electronically with it. Did not think it would be too hard to replace a cage or find a second hand replacement for it. However, the cost to upgrade is not too bad all things considered, even if it is just to the first e-tube gen Di2 ultegra that came out.
