Dhb Aeron 2.0 as a budget wetsuit?

Hi.

Any thoughts on the dhb Aeron 2.0 for $133 as a budget wetsuit? It’s a 3mm torso/2mm shoulders arms and at little bit of 5mm on the thighs.

It’s on “sale” but not sure if that’s the normal “sale” price at Wiggle.

It will be used for Alcatraz and ocean swims in Southern California in prep for Alcatraz, so probably on the thin side. I don’t want to therm out, but I’m ok with being a little chilly for an hour on the Alcatraz swim. But I’ve never swam in water that cold so don’t know what I don’t know.

It’s not going to see a lot of use, honestly, as I rarely race. If I don’t buy this or another budget wetsuit, I’d probably rent, which seems like a hassle to get the right fit and would possibly mean I do less open water swimming in preparation.

Any other budget suit I should look at?

i don’t know about that wetsuit. but this is a great time of year to buy a premium wetsuit at a budget price.

A great budget suit in my experience is the BlueSeventy Fusion. Was on sale through the weekend. Not sure if it is still.

To Slowman’s post, it feels like brands are not offering the usual great deals this year, undoubtedly for all the supply chain / inflationary issues. ROKA, for example, usually has a 50% off deal, but not this year.

Great deal with aquaman

Very good products by the way

Hey

I bought this suit and used it for open water swimming every day over winter . Lockdown meant we had to swim OW. So I probably swam consistently in it for 3 months 6 days a week in ocean

Worked well for me. Price per use works out very good

My feedback on it-
Started to get little tears on the shoulder and had to patch those up.
Never felt cold in it and was swimming in around 16-17 at the coldest temperature.
Used a lot of Vaseline and got some chafing around neck and back of shoulders but not enough to stop swimming
First few uses it was a bit tighter but after that it was good.
I had to hike mine up a fair bit to give range in shoulders. Not sure if that’s a sizing thing or just me
I like the 5mm in the legs. Not all cheap suits have that in the legs.
With the low price it doesn’t feel like such a shame when you get some little tears on the shoulders compared with a premium suit.

I’d love to buy one with more 5mm but not sure price is worth it for me
