I just hopped on the DeSoto site to order some more stuff and noticed they are having a sale on a ton of stuff. It looks like most of it is close to 50% off.
I know there have been a lot of threads about DeSoto quality and every now and then someone questions the price. At retail its well worth it but at these prices how could you go wrong?
So far no problems with anything but I’m a recent convert as well, spring of this year. Not to speak out of turn but pm Emilio and I’m sure he’ll tell you to send them back and they will r/r them for you.
Did you tell Emilio this? He would replace them in a second I’m sure. I have the 400 mile shorts, saddle covers, toe covers, the rainbow of running shorts, all the stuff I have is awesome.
Not the seams but the threads that hold the camois in place seems to come apart, on the inside. In my case, I assume it’s just normal wear and tear since it’s been around 2 years for that pair.
Same here, hope I don’t get a call later today to say the ran out before my order went in! One thing to note is that there is NO WARRANTY on any sale items. So, weigh that vs. cost savings…if it’s important to you. Looking forward to these shorts though, from the feedback I’ve read on here.
Thanks for posting this, Dave. My bike short wardrobe was hurting big time.
And at prices like that, I couldn’t help but try out their bibs. I’ve been riding shorts all this time. I’ve been wanting to see if bibs are really all they’re cracked up to be.
Is that true? I don’t see that on the website. Does it mean that if I order something and don’t like it, I can’t return it (unused)?
Is someone from De Soto here to answer?
I’m thinking of ordering the 400 mile shorts for women. Problem is, I have no way of knowing in advance whether I’ll like the fit. (I love the 4 pocket Power shorts, but didn’t like the feel of the women-specific tri short.)
anyone else had problems with seams on innerside of DS tri-shorts pulling open.
Yes. I had two pairs at the same time where that happened. Emilio asked me if I put them in the dryer, and the answer was “yes”. He told me that is the culprit and if I sent them back he’d have them repaired for me.
I continue to put them in the dryer but have never had a single failure since. I buy about 5 new pairs every year, eventually like everything, they do wear out and I tend to lose a pair now and then as well.
Oh, damnit. They don’t have the red/white/black skinsuit in a M. Now, do I buy a skinsuit that matches my Dual or do I get something on the cheap that clashes?
“Terms of Sale” for sale items appears at the bottom of the page when you begin the check-out process. In fact, you must click a box that says that you agree with the terms…another of which is that all sales are final (even if unused). That’s not uncommon though for close-out type sales. Not sure if the 100% Guarantee still applies though…
