Depressing realization

I have jst come to the realization that my season is over. I was hoping to race in two more evets this summer and have just found out that i have scheduling conflicts with both.

What do you all think that I should do. Here is my situation. Sept 11th is a local race Sprint and Oly, but my wife is hoping to do a mini Roller Tri on the same day. The race is short enough to be considered a light weekend workout, and I don’t think that I want to participate in it. Then I was going to do anothe race on the other side of the state on Sept 18th, but I just got tickets to the ND - MSU football game. Now I could technically make both events, but i think that my racing will suffer greatly after a long day of tailgating and foot ball the day before. What to do?

Ther are no more Tri’s after that on the calander. Bummer.

DAMN! I’ll be in Las Vegas for the Notre Dame - Michigan State game.

okay… that is not usually a bad thing, but I thought I had a chance to get tickets.

GO SPARTANS!!!

at least I can bet on the game.

How do the Irish look this year?

Disney Tri is on Sept. 23 or something in Orlando.

Why not do both (Fball game and the race)? Are you looking to break a PR or just to have fun to close out the season?

True, if you do the tailgate/game thing, you probably won’t be at your best, but is that a reason to cancel the rest of your season? Go out and just have some fun.

Personally, I would skip the game if I were you. Sounds like it’s gonna be a dog. I mean, c’mon. ND? MSU? PUHLEEZE.

GO BLUE!!!

=)

oh screw it! do the race with your wife…you’ll make some great memories, and if you race your ass off maybe you could win the thing! make it fun!

and, go to the game and do it up. i mean, come on. have some fun. i’m sure you raced and raced this summer.

now, you can do both. still race (and RACE IT HARD!) and have a blast at the game. in the end, what’s life without fun and compromise???

“Then I was going to do anothe race on the other side of the state on Sept 18th, but I just got tickets to the ND - MSU football game.”

Okay, so you’re whining to us because you MADE a conflict with yourself… What a piece of work.

Sorry, I can’t even respond nicely to something like this, so I’ll just shut up.

very true…he could have declined the tickets rather than bitch about it later.

so, guess he’ll have to tail gate and learn his lesson the hard way!

The most important thing is to bring everything you need with you to the game. When I was in school and made the road trip to Notre Dame I was always sure not to buy anything within a 50-mile radius of the game so as not to contribute to the South Bend economy. Though now that we have beaten ND 6 of the last 8 years, I feel somewhat less strongly about that. Go State!

Whenever possible “Go thru life as a participant, not a spectator.” is what my momma used to say.
