Denver CO Masters Swim?

I will be in Denver (specifically Inverness, Park Meadows area for work this week and looking for a Master’s Swim program for either Wed/Thurs or Fri morning. Anything down in that neck of the woods or close by? Prefer an outdoor LCM pool, but anything will do.

Thanks!

I don’t know the best option for you but I live right there. If you’re looking for a very hard training session DU(about 10 mins away) has a nice masters program. It can be lcm or short course depending on the day, but is indoors. Led by Tony Deboom.
Another option is Franklin Pool and Cook Creek pool which are both outdoors and have masters swim. Those times are able to be checked at ssprd.org.
Long course outdoor pools do not exist near us, at least in quality. There was one my old team used to swim at near colfax which had a condom in the deep end and some hairballs. I would REALLY not recommend that option.

Tony doesn’t do DU masters anymore. DU masters has early morning sessions (I think around 5:30am), and lunch from 12-1:15pm M,Tu,W,&Fri. Also weekend mornings. Schedule is on DU recreation website.

Thanks! Does anyone have any experience with the Inverness Athletic Club? Just wondering . . . I see they have an outdoor pool, but can’t figure out the size or if they actually have an organized swim practice (Masters). If all else fails, I will just run everyday (which is probably what I need work on the most).

The Inverness pool is part of the Colorado Athletic Club chain. I was a member up the road at Denver Tech Center and occasionally swam at the Inverness pool when DTC was closed for maintenance.

There is an indoor 25m and an outdoor 25m, both heated.

There is a schedule for the outdoor pool at http://www.coloradoathleticclubs.com/Files/PDFs/INVPoolSchedule_Summer.pdf Looks like Wed + Fri mornings for masters squad.

The contacts are on this page http://www.coloradoathleticclubs.com/locations/Inverness/Fitness_Programs/Aquatics/Masters_Swim_Programs.aspx

In theory you need to be a member of the CO Athletic Club to use the facilities. However, if you ask at reception you can get a five day / week pass if you want to try out the club if you don’t mention that you don’t live locally
