Definition of FOP, MOP, and BOP

It seems like “FOP” means something between “I’m one of the best,” to “I’m better than most.” I have read a bunch of posts where someone comments on their performance and calls themselves an FOP. Or, others will say they area solid MOP, yet it seems their race times are pretty stinkin’ good. It has been very interesting to see where everyone places these terms.

I do not think FOP/MOP/BOP are stupid, because those are helpful in setting context and giving a sense of approach for improvement, tactics, and strategies.

The problem with the terms as you described above is every-one has a different definition so its really meaningless. Some will say top 15% is FOP so they can call themselves FOP. Some may win an age group of 3 people and come in behind 1/2 the field and call themselves FOP. To the common person that probably sounds like the person is awesome as long as you leave it as FOP with no context.

Its kind of like saying “I won” without adding the division, sex, age etc. There is only 1 winner but lots of people will call themselves winners at the race. Even the RD’s give awards for at least 2 winners.
