Decent racing clincher, Fulcrum racing zero (3), Camapg Shamals

Looking for people advise on a decent set, not awesome set for my ten-speed recycled (Bike). Think these are basically the same wheel, don’t have money to spend on going up to the aero stuff, pro lite is cheap, though not convinced on quality.

Mavic has heaps of options but never been entirely convinced by Mavic

Fulcrum and Campagnolo are the same wheels. They are awesome, not the best to watch maybe but very very fast with their ceramic bearing hubs

What do you mean by ten speed? If you meant one of the older bikes with a double crankset and a 5-cog freewheel, then modern wheels won’t fit. You could re-space the frame (by bending the stays out carefully, a bike store can do this), but then you’d need to get a cassette compatible with your friction shifters, or change the drivetrain. If this is the situation, then it might be better to just start saving up for a new bike. Or a used one.

If you just meant you have a frame with 130mm rear spacing and a 2x10s drivetrain, i.e. what was current in the mid to late 2000s, then those will fit. The thing is, they’re not much different from what’s already on the bike. Moreover, most of the bike world is shifting to disc brakes. You could try to poach a nice set of used rim brake race wheels, or save up for a new disc brake bike.

I have Shamals on my gravel bike–can’t say enough good things about those wheels!! Obviously on gravel they take a serious beating and just keep rolling ‘fast’ and true. Fulcrums are made by them too so they are a great wheel option-I definitely considered them for both my road and gravel bike. The shop that I use is a big Campy shop and they love both the Shamals and the whole Fulcrum line.

Ah the latter. My Venge got damaged in transit and I was not paying attention so missed the time to get money out of them. Built up a Cervelo r3 frame with the components.

They do look a great deal, had picked up that they were much the same, wanting to see if anyone had used them. Performance for price looks the awesome. I use the bike for crits road races currently have an old set of Ultegra wheels.

It would be nice to get some awesome aero wheels but then it’s getting pricey. Figure I’m getting a robust wheel with an awesome hub which you can’t always say about many of the aero carbon wheels.

Kinda feel like you could get a set of aero wheels from winspace, hunt, or lightbicycle for about as much as those cost.

Ok, will have a look at those. Any idea on the hub quality?

Lightbicycle you can choose your hubs. I’m confident that the hubs used by winspace and hunt will be just as good as anything else out there though. The difference between most hubs these days is small

Ah okay thanks for the steer, those wheels look good, and I won’t have an excuse not to launch the break away
.

The Hunt wheels come with spares and spacers. Light Bicyle I can get DT swiss 350 hubs, the lun look cool and are most aero (marginal).

Standard spacer need for any of these wheels to run a 10 speed cassette?

What makes you say the lun wheels are the most aero? I can’t imagine there are any significant differences between those. Everything should just have a standard 11 speed freehub so standard spacers, etc just like any other wheelset. I’m intrigued by the textured brake track so I’m thinking the lightbicycle wheels for my next purchase. If I was going disc I’d probably go with the newest winspace wheels, they’re a tad lighter I believe. I agree they look the coolest  that filament wound pattern is very interesting.

look cool/aero, don’t hate me for being shallow and unscientific
.

Got a set of decent condition used zipp 404 for a decent price and from a reasonable human, hard to find in the cesspool of delusion and douchery know as ebay marketplace etc.
