You have been my truest love for the last 6 months. When others left you stayed with me. When the doctors drugs and words failed you where the only one who could calm me down. I can not thank you enough for your love and support but it is now time we part ways.
While I still think you smell and taste like heaven I am going with another lover and I hope this one will do what you could. Don’t forget me and I will fight for the right for people to enjoy you until the day I die.
Just curious. Who on this forum actually smokes? I quit 18 years ago, and still view that as a miracle. I don’t see how you could work out, buy stuff for triathlon, biking, etc., and AFFORD smoking.
So if you smoke, do tell. How do you do it? Or do you just do it slow?
as a former Lover Newport lights and Kodiak in my lips everyday from 12-25 years old. I am amped to say it has been 5 years and I still have a really hard time at the convienience store not jumping off the wagon.
I don’t smoke but a friend just gave me a big Cuban cigar and a bottle of Havana Club rum the other day, compliments of his recent holiday in Cuba(Canuks are allowed to visit Cuba). I may make an exception for this.
I’m an odd duck in that I did not start smoking until 19, and have been an on and off smoker since. Now I will have an occasional smoke late at night after too many alcoholic beverages. If you are going to fall off the wagon you may as well fall all the way off right? I used to love to smoke, but now the thrill is gone knowing what it does to my Monday workouts.
I also used to love Skoal Mint, but now it is easier not too spend my hard earned dollars on a $6 guilty pleasure.
Not me, but I used to run with an ex-Army guy who would light up before a 5K - kick my ass then light up when it was over. He said that was they used to do in training.
Didn’t the old TdF guys say that smoking expanded their lungs?
I’m an on again / off again smoker. I quit for about a month and then start again for a few days about 10 times this past year. I don’t know what happens but it always pulls me back. Since my last hIM (late sept '05) I’ve been a solid smoker. I’m quitting on Wendesday morning to start my base for IM training. I smoked (yes, past tense) for about 11 years.
I smoked about 2 packs a day from age 13 to age 18. I quit regularly smoking at age 18 and I’m now the only person in my immediate family that doesn’t smoke. I’ve smoked the occaisional cancer stick since then. The last one that I had was maybe 6 weeks ago. I smoke maybe 4 a year now and it is usually after a night of drinking. I hate myself in the morning for having a smoke the night before. My drunken smoke is getting much less and less frequent. Like someone else said, I haven’t officially smoked in years, but I still crave them every single day.
I was at the Springfield Ironhorse (about 8-10 yrs ago) sitting at the awards ceremony watching them hand out Kona slots. The dude who won my age group had a can of Bud and a cig. He had to lose 'em to go get the awarded slot. What a way to celebrate!
