Nice results. http://www.altavistasports.com/results/2013results/daytonahm02172013.htm
Hey Mr Tibbs, lets put this on our 2014 schedule.
Has to be a mistake. NASCAR does not have athletes (that’s sarcasm).
Good for them.
i saw that on Fox. very impressive. the little bit of footage show Johnson looking very relaxed at is 1:30 pace. not a bad pre-work run.
And Aric Amirola went 1:46.
Some of their bib numbers were their actual car numbers. Micheal Walteip 2:07.
Awesome but can he swim and bike :0)
.
Yep!

Tony Kanaan, Alex Lloyd and Vitor Meira from IndyCar, and Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg in F1 are also triathletes. Button is definitely a hammer.
Edited to fix links.

Jenson Button also has an incredibly hot girlfriend.
Weren’t they confused when they had to turn right?
The road course at Daytona is 3.6 miles; take half a mile off and that would make a fun 5K course
Jimmy Johnson will be doing a 1/2 IM at the end of this years Cup Schedule. He is training for it now.

LMAO
**that’s great. **

The bike portion of the Montreal Esprit Triathlon (various distances all the way up to full IM) is on the road course for the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix track; the Nascar Nationwide series has a race on the same track. The full IM is 41 laps of 4.4K. No traffic, no potholes, and your family gets to see you 41 times on the bike.

Wow, 41 laps? How do you keep track, and how crowded does the bike course get?

Pretty sure that, instead of turning right, they just make 3 really sharp lefts.

Fly by Night Duathlon at Watkins Glen - a great track with 6 loops on the bike. (r, b 3 loops, r, b 3 loop, r)

From their website: * “Our computer timing system will count the laps for the triathletes. Cyclists should always stay left except to pass. Important: Slower cyclists should never cut corners as faster cyclists will be coming from behind. On each lap you will have access to the aid station or “PITS” (see info on aid stations). The distance on your bike computer will give you a good idea of where you are on the course and you can check this against our count which is shown on a video monitor just before the hair pin turn. This monitor indicates your bib number and the number of laps which you have completed.”*
The full had 70 finishers and the half had 280 so the course still wouldn’t be very crowded. Plus the swim is in the Olympic rowing basin that still has cables running the length of it that act as lane lines so your swim should be fast too.

Very interesting. I’ve added this to my list of races I want to do someday. I think it would be fun. Thanks for the info!
We did 2 miles on the speedway yesterday. It was pretty cool. It was a nice race, although really cold.
