David Millar seems have gotten in about half the breakaways during this years tour. Then on one of the big climbs when you would have least expected it there he was setting the pace for his team, helping to shed a few riders. All very Voigt like - still he got out Voigt’ed by the real McCoy yesterday.
Maybe but he makes me gag everytime he whinges about competitors takeing dope and saying it is bad for cycling and it shits me how much press he gets, let his “clean” results speak for themselves.
edited for typo
Post suspension, I think that Millar is still trying to find his form and figure out what his specialty will be. At one time it was clear that he was a TT specialist who could also climb reasonably well and thus had GC asperations for the Grand Tours. However, it has not gone that way since his comback. he is definately not the TT rider that he was before - but maybe he still needs more time.
Your right, though I think he did win a TT in the tour of Spain and has had some other reasonable TT rides, he still has re-kindled his old TT form. He did say pre tour that he wasn’t TT’ing well but was road racing well. I wonder if he will start riding for more One day result - as you said he climbs well (not to GC level but still pretty good) and can put out a good sustain effort so I am sure there are a few races out there he woud do well at. I am not sure that we will see him challanging for the cobbled classics just yet though.
Except for David Millars lack of stage wins from a break and his constant complaining about how “awful and just simply horrible” every day on a bicycle is for him… yeah he’s EXACTLY like Jens Voigt.
Be easy on him its only his 1st tour riding like this (unfortunately Jens has come close twice this year but hasn’t converted yet either). He is also getting happier since his return to the sport from his ban - he said he had the best job in the world the other day.
speaking of Miller, anyone notice all the zinc oxide he had on his legs…looked like white leg warmers. He is evidently suffering from sun poisoning. Brutal way to have to ride the last few stages of the tour.
Easy on Millar. He served his time. He’s coming back and every single journalist keeps asking HIM specifically, what he thinks about what’s going on…What is he supposed to say? ‘Talk to my agent’?
cyclingnews.com said it was for some sort of rash - edit: make that a skin allergy
.
Who’s David Miller? Is he Reggie’s brother?

he won numerous TTs pre ban- b/c the playing field was equal- he and his competitors doped… i don’t think he will win another ProTour TT… unless he dopes again or everyone is clean… therefore his likelihood is low…
“don’t think he will win another ProTour TT… unless he dopes again or everyone is clean…”
He has already won one at the Vuelta last year, but I think you are right that he is not consistantly strong enough to be up there all the time.

No he is Windy’s brother - Just in case you are not familar with 1970’s and 1980’s British Childrens TV - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windy_Miller
Sorry I am Dyslexic and spelling/gramar is not my strong point.
I was wondering if Jen was the sister of Jens…now there would be a story!
