DANICA - My light weight SLC build. My Raven Haired Rocket

The way a 2008 SLC should have looked. Very happy with the finished product.

Hopefully the engine does that beauty justice

Sweet rig, looks really sharp.

Yup - that is absolutely a beaut! Very nice. Might have to drop 2 chains down the seat tube to make the UCI weight on that thing!

Simple, clean, aggressive. I like it. Stealth with a little bit of accent… goes fast just sitting there.

Depends on what chains you are using. I would have to use 3.5 chains to make weight.

it’s missing the nanogram speedplays! nice build… it needs a small white/red stripe color hit on the seatpost or something to key off the brake and shift lever…

The red on the levers will be removed in the near future. As for the nanogram pedals, if you do a bit of research you can actually build a pair for less than half the price. My X2’s will be almost the same weight in the near future for a third of the price.

Unless you sport an orange kit or something…I think the red bit(s) should stay. B&W are great…but the hint of accent livens the whole thing up aesthetically.

Beautiful! Who did the paint job?

Me Likey
.

Dekerf in Vancouver did the paint for me. He stripped the frame down and exposed as much carbon as possible on the top, seat and down tube and then blended in the black on the rest of the bike. In the sun you can see the UD carbon and it looks great next to the wheels.

As for the RED on the levers, they actually might be totally black but I just have to decide how much I want to do on the levers and how easy they come apart.

Derek in Vancouver is very talented! What is the price range to have something like this done?

Depends on how much you need done. I have the frame hand sanded to it cost a lot more and in hindsight I should have done the sanding myself. A standard frame is about ~$300 but that is now what I paid.

One of the best looking bikes I’ve seen.

beautiful.

Beauty eh?

Nice…but I’m thinking a recreation of the blue panels like on my 2002 Soloist would be pretty sharp as well. Hmmm…maybe I should pick up an SLC and have it repainted to look like my old Soloist…and then see who notices!

That was actually my second option for color. I really likes the old color. Except I have white bar tape and would never rock the white saddle.

blue and black dont go together
