Damn pairing!

Ok, I'm on my wit's end. I got the cadence speed sensor for my garmin forerunner 305. Replaced the battery on the sensor since some people said the battery is usually pretty weak. Turned on the forerunner and it does not pick it up. Turned on the cadence sensor under forerunner's accessories and restart scan, nothing. Nadah, the little crank arm icon has a beeping X flashing over it. WHY IS IT NOT PAIRING?!?!?! Do I have to do this outside where there's no interference? I'm nowhere near another sensor or device.

Have you rescanned for the sensors in the systems menu? I had the same problem with mine. Also try hitting the reset button on the cadence sensor while your unit is scanning for it.

Did both but still the damn X over the crankarm icon is still there. I took it out for a spin and the cadence reads but the X is still over the icon. What's up? Does the X just goes away when I'm pedalling?

If the cadence reads it’s working…you can’t even see the x thing you’re talking about if you’re in a data display screen.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I’m having the identical problem. I want to use the GSC10 for Speed and Cadence, but leave the GPS on for tracking. Do you know if the GPS has to be turned off for the GSC10 to work? Under FAQ on the Garmin site, that seems to be what they recommend.
