Whatever it does, it works great for me.
I really like the powder cytomax. But I HATE the cytomax that comes in ready-made bottles.
Agreed, powdered cytomax tastes great, priced reasonably, and seems to work better than everything else ive tried… but the bottled cytomax tastes horrible
like a really sugary cool aid.
Weither its claims are 100% accurate or not it seems to work well for me and the fact that all the flavors ive tried thus far (berry pom, peachy keen, cool citrus, fruit punch,
orange, and pink lemonade taste great… can’t go wrong)
Whatever it does, it works great for me.
.
I’ve used Cytomax (peachy keen powder) for my last 6 IMs. This is the only stuff I can drink when it gets warm.
I must add that I also combine it with Carbo Pro so I can carry most of my calories in one or two bottles.
Wow I didn’t know they still made this stuff. I knew some people that used it in the early 90s and haven’t really heard much about it since. Where do you guys buy it?
I actually have used it for years and love it too.
My question about the marketing claims being real, tie into my A-race this year using Gatorade Endurance. I’m just now trying out Gatorade Endurance first time and am pretty unimpressed with it so far.
However… I really can’t tell how much of that is a real difference, and how much of the difference is psychosomatic.
That’s why I want to know if the marketing claims are real.
And, if they are, how much better is Cytomax than Gatorade?
don’t know for sure but my 2 best races have been on cytomax powder
.
I’ve been testing elecrolyte drinks latelty because I’ve become tired of gatorade products which I usually cut with water. I tried cytomax orange mix on my last long ride and almost gagged when I first tasted it. It was like orange flavoured soap. I finished the whole bottle though and I will admit that I did notice a significant increase in energy levels. But the taste really put me off. After reading these other comments I’m inclined to try some other flavours.
On the same note, I have tried GU Brew and Hammer Nutrition HEED and like the taste of both and also noticed increased energy levels.
Used Cytomax too but think Infinit (when you have your formula dialed in) is “infinitely better”.
I line it up on my mirror with an Amex card.
I can always pull it a little better when I’m snorting with a Benjamin.
It’s the citric acid, sodium and pottasium citrate presumably.
There’s some evidence it seems

Trizone.com has pretty good prices on Cytomax.
I hate to admit this but I buy my Cytomax at Performance. REI also has the single serving packs on hand. Every flavor is good except one of the oranges or citrus flavor.
Been reading up on sugars lately. Does Infinit have fructose or dextrose like Cytomax? What is the bad sugar?
I’m mid-experiment now.
I’ve substituted Gatorade Endurance, which will be provided in my A-race, for the Cytomax I’ve been using for years.
Two workouts in, I do seem to be feeling a difference. My legs seems to be burning a bit from lactic acid buildup, where they weren’t burning at all before.
I’ll give it a couple of more tries, but I no longer think it’s just psychosomatic.
I think there is a real difference, and thus I’ll probably be taking my own fluids for the Ironman.

How are you using Cytomax?
Before or during your workout?

I use it both ways depending on the workout and how I’m feeling.
For a short run, I might just have a bottle before heading out the door. For longer workouts, I’ll certainly take it with me.
I’ve always gotten good service and good deals at http://www.smartbodynutrition.com/ I have been racing on cytomax for 20+ years I believe. I love the orange. For IM, I mix it with Carbo Pro.
Best wishes,

How true is this claim?
I’m sure if you take their product you won’t have any lactic acid in your muscles.
Also true if you drink water.
