Thanks for your attention and concern.

wow, this really sucks

a reason why I put my blood type, name, tel, and medical insurance number inside my helmet
.

Bump.

Yet another reason to wear my Road ID.

man that sucks… I don’t know who he is… maybe e-mail the cincy cycle club?

i emailed the officers, but there is no online member directory…they might have a list that is not published…

bad situation.

Thanks, KC for posting this. I logged on to put it up here if one of you hadn’t. I am always worried that would happen, because cyclist are flying down that hill where the Kroger exit is (he hit a car that was pulling out of Kroger-on the driver’s side).

Bike shop owners: Could a serial number on the bike be traced to a shop and buyer? (assuming he is the 1st owner)

Carry ID!

I just got an email that the Cycle Club sent out about it…

it is horrible.

would safety dan know who he is? It is THAT kroger? Man… I always get scared down that hill too because of that light in the middle and sometimes get dropped. after all… maybe my fears are legit. who rides a cervelo?

that’s great…that will get to alot of people.

Just heard on the radio that it was Mike Kaiser. 61 years old and a kona qualifier.

I’ve met him a few times. Really nice guy. He is in my prayers

does he have family here or anything like this??

Man…this sucks. My prayers are with him. Funny that they described the stud as 40-50 when he is 61. To put a positive spin on a very negative situation, this certainly would have made his day in any other circumstance. All the best to him.

Yes, mike is an avid tri guy in Cincinatti - I do think he has a family. Didn’t know he qd for Kona

Geez - Mark and I were extra careful last night as well on the descents since it was raining. We just happened to talk about our daughters a little before the ride.

Maybe we can get together a little care package for him/family while recovering (hopefully) in the hospital room?

I was hit 8 years ago and they gave my name out over the radio and someone who heard it on the radio called my grandmother to see if I was O.K. and that was the first she had heard of it and it freaked her out. I wish that they had not disclosed the information in such a public manner.

No way :frowning: Man… I know mike realy well… shit

My prayers are with Mike.

I always wear ID when riding or running. Needed a medical alert ID, and being the cheap SOB that I am, found a great low budjet alternative. I wear a dog tag from the pet store. Only $4 for 3 lines. Room for name, phone #, an d Dr’s. mane and #.

yes, let’s do this. i can get some fruit, bagles, magazines, etc…my schedule is totally flexible so i can pick up or drop off as well…

yeah, I see Mike on that route all the time. Ugh. Oh, man…

From the InfinIT web site:
“He’s a three-time, top 10 finisher at the Ironman World Championships, the current U.S. National Ironman Champion, and a two-time Triathlon All-American.”

it’s just sickening, really. i hate that road.
