Cyclist Benoit Joachim wishes that he had worked with Ferrari

This guy might just be the most honest person in the world. And a bit of an idiot.

Well given he was positive for an anabolic steroid but got off because the B sample was untestable, I’m not sure the issue was doping vs. not doping but working with Ferrari vs. free-styling it or however he did it.

Thanks, corrected the title.

Still, for someone to come out and say, “I wish I had been part of systematic doping” is very strange.

Well it’s a “schizophrenic” interview to say the least. He’s basically saying yes there was organized doping on the team but you didn’t have to work with Ferrari so if USADA had only spoken to me then Armstrong wouldn’t be having so much trouble, sure wish I had taken advantage of that doping, Armstrong great champion because everyone else was doping too.

I’ve not looked it up, was he in the TdF squad the year the whole team was blood doping?

He was on US Postal/Discovery from 1999-2005. Wikipedia says that he competed in the TdF twice 2000, 2002

Thanks, corrected the title.

Well possibly coming out and say it is but I can imagine him (and a few others) sitting there thinking “if I had done that I would have made millions, sure my name would have been mud but I’d still be a lot richer than I am and the shit would eventually pass”. Maybe he’s just wants to get the guilty thought off his chest, who knows?
