New to tri’s and looking for some new cycling shoes - would prefer road bike shoes. Does anyone have any recommendations for shoes that are <$120 that are comfortable and durable. I have a fairly narrow long foot. Any recommendations are appreciated! Thank you!
Have you considered a triathlon shoe?
Check out the entry level shoes from Shimano (RC3), Bontrager, and Specialized (Torch).
At that price, you can get a BOA closure at the top ( vs velcro), and a glass reinforced nylon sole. The carbon soles on pricier shoes are significantly stiffer, but testing has shown no increase in power transfer (you get less weight, a stiffer feel, and a thinner sole for your extra $$$).
I like Specialized Torch 1.0. the current version has BOA closure. Very comfortable for me and seem durable.
Thank you all for the recommendations!
